Lunchtime Lead
Hours of Work 21hrs prep time before start of playscheme 9 a.m - 2p.m.
Purpose of Post
To lead the delivery of the food service across the Oasisplay sites.
To work with the management team, children and young people to develop a service which provides healthy lunchtime meals and engages children and young people in the process.

Ensuring food is supplied to each sites
Leading food preparation activities with children across sites
Duties and Responsibilities
Activity Planning
To work with management team, children and young people to develop a menu prior to the playscheme
To work with management team to develop the logistics of the scheme and how it would work over the four sites.
To support the food preparation across the sites including working with children
Liaison
To develop and maintain good relationships and communications with teams parents/carers to ensure the needs of each child are met
To communicate clearly about any matters relating to the scheme to line manager and management team
To consult with the children and involve them in the planning of activities
To share good practice with the rest of the team.
Food Preparation
Ensure food provided is balanced and healthy in accordance with recommended dietary requirements, and that food preparation/handling is carried out within the guidelines of the Food Safety, Act 1990
Supervision children
Ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner and are accessible to all children
To engage children positively in food preparation and cooking activities
General
Ensure that risk assessments are completed prior to commencing new activities with children and that you are aware of existing risk assessments
To be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures and implement these should the need arise
Person Specification
Experience
- Experience of menu planning and food preparation for large numbers of people
- Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge / Education
- An understanding of nutrition and healthy eating
- An understanding of the value of outdoor play and education.
- Demonstrable understanding of the principles of equal opportunities.
Skills
- Ability to manage a group of mixed aged children and sustain their interest and involvement in activities.
- To have a positive, warm and flexible approach, prepared to work as part of a team and to develop own project management skills.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Aptitude for working in a diverse, multicultural communities.
Job Types:
Part-time, Temporary contract
Part-time hours: 21 per week
Salary:
Up to £15.00 per hour
