Around since , SAMH is Scotland's national mental health charity. We have represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for almost years. Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others.
These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change. Hours: 37.5 full time
Salary: £23, - £26, (Salary Point 19 to 23)
Contract: Fixed Term until March
About the Role
The Achieving Active Lives (AAL) project is a SAMH led physical activity behaviour change intervention funded for 2 years by Movember.
The Behaviour Change Practitioner (BCP) will provide a person-centred behaviour change intervention service that is responsive to the needs of individuals opting in to the AAL intervention as part of an existing physical activity referral programme. The BCP will support individuals to identify issues that are affecting their ability to become more active, in terms of self–esteem, attitudes towards physical activity and perceived levels of control.
What we are looking for
•Experience of relevant community working - Essential
•Experience working in mental health field - Essential
•Experience of dealing with people facing life challenges and changes - Essential
We are looking for an individual who has experience of mentoring individuals within a physical activity setting and understands behaviour change interventions. Ideally with experience of facilitating groups and previously involved with partnership working.
