    Salary: up to £38,000 (increasing to £40,879 on successful completion of training and achieving full competence) plus 30% unsocial hours allowance

    We are recruiting Plumbing Senior Maintenance Technicians for Rail for London Infrastructure.
    Elizabeth Line is the new high frequency, high-capacity railway for London and the Southeast, carrying Passengers between Reading and Heathrow in the West to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the East via a network of tunnels under Central London.

    Rail for London Infrastructure (RfLI), a TfL (Transport for London) subsidiary, is Infrastructure Manager (IM) for the central operating section between Paddington, Abbey Wood, and Stratford. This means for the first time in the Organisations history, TfL are operating trains on the UK (United Kingdom) mainline railway. This exciting challenge requires highly skilled Maintenance Technicians to maintain the digital railway.

    Purpose

    The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the delivery of safety of line inspections, asset monitoring, maintenance, like for like renewal and enhancements works. This will include asset fault response, infrastructure inspection, asset data management and the safe delivery of reliability centred maintenance tasks.

    The Senior Maintenance Technician will assist the Principal Maintenance Technician (team leader) to deliver Planned and Reactive Maintenance on-time, helping to maintain compliance and asset performance in terms of Reliability and Availability.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Delivery and execution of Infrastructure maintenance works, renewals works and supervision of contracted labour services. This includes completion of infrastructure inspections; self-assurance checks and quality checks.
    • Being part of fault response teams and the delivery of maintenance tasks as defined by the Asset Steward, complying with defined British, TfL and Network Rail standards, processes, procedures, and performance to be delivered.
    • Deliver maintenance deployment planning with operations colleagues, ensuring that the operational requirements align with the maintenance engineering asset management requirements and deliver a compliant, safe, operable, and maintainable railway including the undertaking of on-call duties.
    • Ensure Infrastructure and Asset maintenance standards are met by applying established policies and procedures.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

    Knowledge

    • Specialist knowledge of Building Services and public health systems with a strong mechanical maintenance background.
    • Substantial experience as a Mechanical Technician, Building Services Technician or Senior Maintenance Technician within the plant room environment with working experience of planned preventive maintenance and fault finding and repair.
    • Mechanical Maintenance Technicianrequirements are Minimum of NVQ Level 2 & 3 plumbing and heating qualification City Guilds or equivalent and Level 3 Award in Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and Water Byelaws in the UK or equivalent ACOP L8 Legionella Awareness.
    • OrNVQ Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Heating and Ventilation (City and Guilds or equivalent and Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Installing, Testing and Maintaining Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems or equivalent.
    • Full UK driving licence.
    • Legionella, WRAS, Unvented training / certification
    • Knowledge of railway systems and related engineering disciplines.
    • Familiar with functions of plant room control panels.
    • Appreciation of Reliability Based Maintenance/Condition Based Maintenance.
    • Undertake Installation, Maintenance, Modification and Repair of Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • Electrical maintenance experience

    • Experience in the management of infrastructure maintenance

    • Experience of working alongside other engineering functions.
