    Salary:

    Contract:
    Fixed term/ Full time – 2-year Training programme based at Alltnacriche

    Scripture Union Scotland is a registered charity that desires to see every child and young person in Scotland explore the Bible and respond to the significance of Jesus.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Centre Support Worker, based at one of our activity centres, Alltnacriche, in the heart of the Cairngorms.

    The Centre has 58 beds and is set within a beautiful 17-acre estate. School holiday times are fully booked with SU Holidays while weekends see a range of groups enjoying the facilities. During term-time, the centre offers residential activity breaks to visiting school groups.

    This trainee role is designed to underpin all aspects of Centre life and ministry, working across the full range of teams at Alltnacriche, but with a specific focus on House and Catering.

    It will provide you with a solid foundation of what it means to live and work at a residential Centre.

    You will also have the opportunity to participate in wider SU events and ministry.

    Throughout your time at the Centre, you will be mentored by an experienced member of staff and be able to undertake various training courses, based upon your areas of interest.

    This might include chainsaw qualifications, first aid, PAT and other similar qualifications.
    Helping in the Catering team to prepare food and serve it to our guests
    Working in the House to clean bedrooms or bathrooms, and do Health and Safety checks
    Supporting Maintenance tasks such as painting or cutting firewood
    Looking after guests during school residentials, including some evening work

    We are seeking applicants who have a desire to use their faith in practical service in order to support our ministry of working with children and young people.

    It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
