    Director of Engineering

    Remote

    £130,000 + bonus + full bens

    We are looking for a Director of Engineering who lead a large software engineering team into a major transformation journey, across the entire business globally.

    Experience/skills required:

    • Clearly a Rockstar but are too humble to admit it You will lead from the front to coach and develop those around you to be the best they can be
    • Experience or passion to drive major transformation across all technology areas with a sole focus on engineering
    • Work well in fast paced environments, where change is a constant and everyone mucks in to get stuff done
    • Are not afraid to think big, take risks, fail fast and own your decisions
    • Can wear both engineering and business hats, and work between the two to ensure you deliver the right stuff, at the right time to provide value to the customers and partners.
    • Have experience building, running and leading high performing, autonomous engineering teams
    • Can create a forward-thinking technology culture, with a commitment to building psychologically safe, diverse and inclusive teams
    • Have a fundamental understanding of the principles of Agile cross-functional delivery
    • Have excellent communication skills and experience working with senior leaders across the business
    • Have experience working in fast paced, high growth, technology-focused organisations

    You will:

    • Run a large engineering department that will grow both through hiring and acquisition over the next few years
    • Review and where necessary transform the way we work in Engineering, ensuring we have a world class organisation with a lean in culture
    • Manage a team of development managers who are each managing cross-functional technology teams
    • Work closely with the CTO to re-establish a technology programme that keeps the company at the cutting edge
    • Own and work with product and design to deliver products that improve the time to value of their users
    • Guide on best practice engineering methods and offer expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives
    • Ensure that delivery is run effectively and evolves to ensure that requirements are delivered at high quality on a timely basis
