    Description

    We are looking for a part time compassionate and dedicated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Gynaecology Outpatient and Colposcopy team at the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.


    You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine passion caring for Women undergoing all aspects of gynaecological care.

    Previous gynaecology experience is desirable but not essential. We are a dynamic unit which treats a wide range of Gynaecological conditions.

    You need to be a registered nurse with current NMC registration.

    This post will include, coordinating care and chaperoning the patients attending gynaecology outpatients, assisting in the colposcopy clinics and also those attending the gynaecology termination clinic.

    You can expect to receive in house training from the Gynaecology Outpatient Sisters and other members of the team. STAFF CAR PARKING


    Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 - 18:30.


    For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital.

    Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.


    This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete on call duties within their role.

    Carries out the assessment of patients by identifying nursing problems and needs in partnership with the patient, and with appropriate members of the inter-professional team.

    Ensures that skilled care is given to patients and that all drugs and treatments are administered as prescribed.
    Ensures the significance of data relating to patients condition and progress is interpreted and acted upon.
    Contributes to health promotion and raises health awareness with patients and relatives.
    Ensures safe practice to minimise the risk of infection to patients and staff.

    NMC Registered Nurse

    Experience within a gynaecology setting

    Experience at Band 5
    Evidence of continuous professional development

    Able to practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Guidelines
    Able to demonstrate awareness of current changes in nursing practice and willing to share knowledge with colleagues
    Demonstrates ability to co-ordinate outpatient clinics
