    Job Summary

    An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated candidate to take on the role of Clinical Educator within Stroke Services.

    This is a key position for nurse education in clinical practice, requiring clinical credibility. You should be a registered nurse with a recognized teaching qualification and a strong dedication to maintaining high standards of patient care. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to show initiative are a must, along with serving as a positive role model for all levels of staff in the Acute Stroke Unit and the Stroke Pathway Assessment & Rehabilitation Centre.

    The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing high standards of clinical skills among all learners in the environment. Responsibilities include facilitating clinical induction, education, professional development, and advice in accordance with evidence-based practice, national recommendations, and clinical governance frameworks.

    Main Duties of the Job

    The main responsibilities of the role include:

    • Coordinating, delivering, and enhancing teaching sessions during specialist Study Days
    • Conducting skills-based practical sessions
    • Providing clinical skills teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate staff
    • Assessing feedback and responding to incidents by creating real-time learning opportunities, SWARM huddles, and simulated activities
    • Participating in senior meetings with Ward Managers, Matrons, and Practice Development Lead to advance Clinical learning environment strategy and processes

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • 1st Level Registration Nurse
    • Current NMC Registration
    • Recognized Teaching/Mentorship Qualification
    • Completion of Stroke Competency Pack or equivalent

    Desirable

    • 1st Level Degree or equivalent, or evidence of study at that level

    Experience

    Essential

    • Relevant experience in acute service
    • Ability to demonstrate change implementation in practice
    • Strong commitment to professional development
    • Working knowledge of Mandatory Training/role-specific training requirements
    • Evidence of management experience
    • Ability to work autonomously

    Desirable

    • Knowledge of relevant Policy and Procedure at STHFT
    • Organizational Mandatory Training Policy and Strategy
    • Application of research to nursing practice
    • Experience in delivering teaching sessions and presentations
    • Development of educational databases
    • Experience in acute management of stroke/neurology/rehabilitation
