MMP Consultancy are currently seeking a Building Surveyor (External Cladding) for an interim contract with a Public Sector organisation in South London.

Salary Circa. £350 per day Inside IR35.


Key Duties:

  • Undertake visual external wall systems survey of private highrise residential blocks in the Borough and profile the buildings in line with the Team's riskbased approach to fire safety
  • Prioritise inscope buildings most at risk due to identified deficiencies to their external wall systems, number of storeys and size of the block.
  • Undertakes HHSRS inspection on private highrise residential buildings with suspected combustible cladding to identify fire safety deficiencies, assess fire safety measures employed, recommend interim measures and remediation works as required by the Housing Act 200
  • Liaise with building proprietors to obtain Health & Safety files, operating manuals and architect drawings/specifications to fill gaps in information gathered from EWS surveys and BSP data submission.
  • Attend to enquires from local councillors, DLUHC, LFB and Building proprietors while maintaining good relations with all stakeholders through quality communication and timely feedback.
  • Responsible for management of External Wall Systems (EWS) data on Team's Building Safety Platform while also liaising with the BSP consultant to ensure continuous improvement of the BSP.
  • Assist my Team with various reports including KPIs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that data uploaded to DELTA's EWS, ACM and nonACM portals including information on HHSRS, Notices issued and enforcement activities are accurate and uptodate.
  • Provide advice to private building owners and leaseholders on interim measures to manage fire and structural risks, and funding options for cladding remediation, such as Building Safety Fund (BSF), £30 million Waking Watch Relief Fund and £1 billion grant fund for the removal and replacement of unsafe nonACM cladding systems.

Experience:


  • An appropriate surveying or engineering qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in drafting technical specifications for building fabric and/or M&E works
  • Significant technical knowledge and survey/quality inspection experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Risk management experience and fire safety management in residential buildings is desirable.
  • Experience in following policies and procedures and using them to achieve agreed objectives
  • Fluent and skilled in use of IT as a tool for records management, communication and other purposes.
