- To provide a phlebotomy service for the practice population
- Undertake routine diagnostic nursing tasks such as, ECGs, blood pressure checks, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, routine heights, weights and urinalysis
- Undertake spirometry
- Use patient contacts as opportunities to promote health education, including education on practice systems such as obtaining a blood result.
- Participate in health promotion projects such as No Smoking Day
- Take responsibility for the administration of diabetic care planning, coordinating patient results and clinical observations and ensuring the care plan is sent to the patient in time for their annual review
- •NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of experience
- •Good general education to GCSE standard including numeracy and literacy
- •Good communication and interpersonal skills
- •Knowledge of health promotion and to be able to use patient contacts as opportunities to promote
