    Accounts Administrator - Part-time

    We are assisting a small company located on the outskirts of Colchester in the search for a part-time Accounts Administrator.

    This supportive and family-like company is offering the opportunity to work either from 10am to 4pm or 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a lunch break included.

    T

    The pro-rata salary ranges from £20,000 to £21,000 and it's important that you have transportation to reach the office due to its location.

    This position entails a diverse range of tasks that will suit someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys handling various responsibilities.

    You should have demonstrated proficiency in Xero and preferably have experience in an administrative and accounts role.

    Since you will often serve as the primary point of contact for the company, strong communication skills and a positive demeanor when dealing with external clients are essential.


    Duties will include but not be limited to:
    - Credit checking, payment processing, and debt collection
    - Setting up new customer and supplier accounts
    - Managing supplier invoices and reconciling statements
    - Handling petty cash and credit card transactions
    - Recording bank receipts and payments
    - Calculating timesheets
    - Managing VAT returns and payments
    - Handling calls and welcoming visitors
    - Coordinating travel and accommodation arrangements, and assisting with event planning
    - Ordering supplies and managing consumables
    - Providing administrative support including filing, archiving, copying, processing mail, and document management as needed
    - Acting as a point of contact, taking messages, and assisting with inquiries
    - Keeping track of holiday records
    - Coordinating contractors
    - Occasionally assisting with basic social media postings for the company

    Candidate requirements:
    - Proficiency in using Xero
    - Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a small, friendly team environment
    - Professional and positive work approach


    Due to the office location, a valid driving license is required. You should be a personable individual willing to take on various tasks to support the business, as responsibilities and schedules may vary, making organizational skills essential.
