Aspirations Support Bristol is a leading and growing provider of supported living and community outreach services for individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
We currently employ approximately 170 staff to support around 80 individuals.Job description
- Experience of delivering mandatory training to social care support staff.
- Experience of working with individuals with learning difficulties and with people with mental health conditions including Drugs, Alcohol and Personality 'Disorders' (PD's).
- A good working knowledge of PBS 'Positive Behaviour Support' planning and its importance in providing high quality effective personcentred support to individuals.
- A relevant professional qualification such as QCF/NVQ level 3 or above in Adult Health and Social Care.
- A relevant professional qualification in education/training facilitation (eg PTLLS)
- Enthusiasm, energy and resilience.
Also desirable are:
- A knowledge of QCF funding
- Experience of facilitating the 'Care Certificate'.
- Knowledge of a range of training planning, delivery and recording software systems
- Currently studying towards or have a qualification in PBS (Positive Behavioural Support)
Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess training needs for new and existing employees and identify internal and external training programs to address needs and/or competency gaps.
- Deliver face to face induction and refresher training in specialist areas and facilitate elearning to meet other staff induction and refresher training needs.
- Ensure all planning and delivery of staff training is recorded efficiently on the Company 'Training Matrix'.
- Ensure allocated training is shared by adding the relevant staff / topics to the Company Induction Calendar and Company Training Rota.
- Organise, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs arising from individual practice, incidents etc.
- Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks.
- Liaise with external qualification providers and staff regarding QCF.
- Present training programs using recognised training techniques.
- Use quality assurance tools to measure and improve training effectiveness, including staff feedback and the company monthly auditing format.
- Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.
- Manage and maintain inhouse training facilities and equipment.
- Keep current on training design and methodology.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external training suppliers.
