An opportunity has become available to join Boeing Defense UK as a Production Planner.
This position is part of the on-site C-17 Field Services Team supporting the Royal Air Force customer at RAF Brize Norton. The Boeing Team at Brize Norton is a vital part of the support that we provide the Royal Air Force Customer. We have a Team of 90-plus employees who work directly for, and with, the C-17 operational team, providing real-time, time-critical and dynamic assistance at the point of delivery. This is a Team at the vanguard, and we are offering an opportunity for you to join that Team working as part of the Boeing MRP 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO), who undertake scheduled maintenance of the UK C-17 fleet and carry out adhoc defect rectification.
As an MRP 145 Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning all maintenance activities in compliance with regulatory requirements and Company policies. You will work closely with various departments - internal and external to Boeing - to ensure that maintenance tasks are scheduled efficiently to meet operational demands while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain production schedules for aircraft maintenance, repairs, and inspections in accordance with MRP 145 regulations and customer requirements.
Collaborate across the organization to determine resource requirements, including manpower, materials, tools and equipment.
Analyze maintenance tasks and prioritize them based on factors such as aircraft input duration, criticality, and operational impact.
Coordinate with supply chain colleagues to ensure timely availability of parts and materials needed for scheduled maintenance activities. Ensure supply chain action is undertaken to resolve issues related to unscheduled maintenance events.
Monitor work progress and resolve any issues that may arise during the maintenance process to minimise delays and disruptions.
Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to communicate production schedules, address concerns, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Participate in audits and inspections conducted by regulatory authorities or customers to demonstrate compliance with applicable requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety within the maintenance organisation.
Be able to review and provide a technical assessment of work packages to give an overview of man hours, consumables, materials and tooling requirements. Ensuring the organisation has the capacity and scope to perform the work.
Required Qualifications:
Be able to work unsupervised but also be a team player.
Previous experience in aircraft maintenance planning or production control within a Part 145 (commercial or military) maintenance organization is highly desirable.
Thorough understanding of MRP 145 regulations, airworthiness requirements, and industry best practices related to aircraft maintenance.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and safety in all aspects of work.
Work Authorization:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
