Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service requires the services of a Senior Finance Officer to help manage the finances of the organisation and provide the full range of skills, knowledge and experience needed as the organisation undertakes strategic review this year and navigates known and as yet unknown opportunities and challenges over the next 12-18 months.

Your specific SFO skillset will be vital in this period.


Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee working in a variety of ways to promote volunteering, build social fabric, boost resilience and confidence and support the health & wellbeing of communities & individuals.


LCVS supports the voluntary and community sector in Lincolnshire; helping people to achieve their personal and organisational goals, creating strong strategic and local partnerships and building strong communities.

We provide practical organisational development support to local charities and community organisations and advocate on their behalf. LCVS is also the largest provider of social prescribing link worker services in the county.
The LCVS approved budget for is approximately £2m.

This includes local authority funding for core community development and volunteer centre services, NHS funded Social Prescribing Link Worker services, related third-party funded projects and self-generated income.

Our Finance Officer (FO) has taken on more responsibility as the role has grown.

However, LCVS has grown significantly over the last five years and LCVS now requires a Senior Finance Officer (SFO) to provide professional services and ensure we have the skills and capacity to meet current expectations and demands.

Our Finance Officer (FO) has taken on more responsibility as the role has grown.

However, LCVS has grown significantly over the last five years and LCVS now requires a Senior Finance Officer (SFO) to provide professional services and ensure we have the skills and capacity to meet current expectations and demands.

The SFO will work on a flexible annualised time commitment at daily fee rate over the year and:

  • Work with the Finance Officer to share knowledge, skills and experience and guide their workload prepare financial reports.
  • Provide professional advice to the CEO and trustees, oversee budget preparation, yearend closing of accounts and audit.
  • Help us to develop our strategic financial goals.
  • Support aspects of larger, more complex project delivery where there is financial accountability such as the Community CRM procurement and UKSPF.
  • Ensure financial systems of control as compliant and effective.


The SFO must have a relevant professional qualification and have a good understanding of LCVS business needs and experience of managing charity finances.


The SFO will work with the FO who will continue to provide day-to-day finance support onsite including keeping track of income and expenditure, recording and reporting on financial transactions, general accounts management as well as payroll and budget and year-end forecast preparation.

This will include regular, mínimal fortnightly meetings to take stock, set expectations and coordinate a plan of work.

The SFO will provide cover for annual leave and unplanned absences.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance required.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, including cash flow statements.
  • Strong understanding of Excel and QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think outside of the box to solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining focus on results.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a sense of urgency for results.

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 7-14 per week


Salary:
£25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
