- Deliver top-notch baggage handling services consistently
- Utilize a handheld security device for baggage reconciliation and loading into containers as needed
- Operate a handheld device for re-flighting baggage
- Drive specialized equipment to transport baggage containers to and from the aircraft
- Collaborate closely with and take direction from Baggage Crew Chiefs
- Perform any necessary administrative tasks
- Represent American Airlines by upholding uniform standards and prioritizing customer service
- Promote American Airlines products and services to customers
- Complete all required training within specified deadlines
- Promote a safe working environment at all times
- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned
- Maintain physical fitness to walk long distances during shifts
- Lift baggage weighing up to 23kg continuously during a shift
- Work collaboratively to lift baggage over 32kg safely
- Function effectively in a small team
- Work well with minimal supervision
- Be open to working shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Be adaptable to a fixed 5 and 2 roster
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess a valid UK/EU driving license and pass the HAL driving test
- Maintain a well-groomed appearance and comply with uniform standards
- Be reliable, punctual, and adhere to company policies
- Obtain a valid Heathrow airside security pass
- Hold or be eligible for a BAA airside pass
- Completed GSAT & BSAT training
- Be committed to completing all relevant training successfully
- Prior airline work experience
- Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

What Makes This Job Exciting
You'll handle baggage reconciliation, loading, and unloading at a cutting-edge baggage facility. This role involves safely transporting customer baggage to and from the aircraft parking area. You'll need to have a good grasp of working in airside and security-restricted zones, always maintaining a responsible attitude in a busy, complex, and sometimes noisy environment. Your daily tasks will include following instructions from the Baggage Crew Chiefs in a shift-based role that includes weekends and holidays.
