We have an excellent opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our busy and award winning restaurant, The Kitchen.

A good team player, you will maintain a clean and safe environment in the restaurant, kitchen, and "back of house" in accordance with food hygiene regulations, and ensure that all pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and other equipment used in the kitchen are washed up to a high standard.

About the role:

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include

  • To maintain kitchen cleanliness in accordance with food hygiene regulations, ensuring correct chemicals are used on surfaces/appliances
  • To wash up all pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and other equipment used in the kitchen, to a high standard;
  • To assist the Head Chef and members of the team with the basic preparation of food as directed.
  • To ensure that the kitchen and other areas are cleaned and the floors swept and mopped at the end of the shift each day.
  • To ensure 'back of house' is kept clean and safe
  • To empty bins, keeping bin areas neat, clean and tidy and taking recycling to the designated point.
  • During busy periods, and when requested, to help Front of House staff in collecting and sorting dirty crockery and cutlery.

Based in Sidmouth, Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty - This is a part-time, casual hours contract starting as soon as possible.

This roles will involve weekday and weekend shifts.

The working hours and pattern will be agreed between the line manager and post-holder, these will vary between 4 hours per day and 7.5 hours per day.
