    About the Children's Division

    The Job Profile

    To work across a number of the UK's highest profile accounts in the high street and mass market side of the business, selling in our children's list.

    The Job Role

    The candidate will be responsible for selling books helping the team to drive sales and create strategies for growth with UK retailers within the high street and the mass market, and will work with our Irish team to grow sales and raise our profile in the Irish market. You will identify sales opportunities that help S&S to reach new readers, across a wide variety of accounts and be ambitious for growth in each area.

    You will be responsible for minimizing returns and for negotiating discounts in order to both deliver sales targets and protect company profitability. Working alongside the children's sales team the candidate will be a key contact for key accounts, sharing feedback and market insight to liaise clearly with other departments and providing excellent competitor feedback to inform acquisition and design decisions. The candidate will be a key member of the sales team that helps drive and input on retail strategy, building brands and growing sales across the business.

    The Candidate Profile

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual, eager to gain knowledge and experience of sales to a variety of accounts, but who already has a track record in direct selling. Experience of and a passion for children's books would also give you an advantage.

    The candidate will have a flair for numbers, be personable and have an understanding of the opportunities within individual retailers for our diverse list. Their customer relationships should be second to none and they should have strong interpersonal and presentation skills. The role needs someone who will always be willing to take on new challenges, be flexible and determined to succeed. They will have a prowess for multi-tasking and innovative thinking and be able to work on their own and as part of a team.
