    About the Company:
    Our client, an International Trading company, is seeking a skilled Risk Analyst to join their Metals team.

    Job Description:
    The role of a market risk analyst involves evaluating and reporting all aspects of risk and exposures associated with commercial activities independently. This includes reporting trading positions, managing P&L, trade review and reconciliation to comply with accounting and regulatory standards.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Review data entry in the trading system.
    • Assess and report market risk control items on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as per the Operating Policy.
    • Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly P&L reports within specified deadlines.
    • Complete accounting memos and requirements for quarterly financials needed by the Accounting Department within deadlines.
    • Address inquiries related to market risk control items and P&L reports from internal and external audit teams.
    • Ensure market price risk is identified and hedge actions are taken.
    • Create ad-hoc reports for management to support position reporting, structure, or strategy.
    • Support ad-hoc projects for system development.
    • Provide backup coverage as a member of the Middle Office.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Fluency in English and Japanese languages at a professional level, both spoken and written.
    • Advanced Excel skills and ability to adapt to new systems.
    • Solid grasp of mathematical figures, formulas, and modeling (especially in Microsoft Excel).
    • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with the team, Front Office, and internal departments.
    • Capability to work well under pressure with a calm and organized approach.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks under general guidance.
    • High accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Effective time management and interpersonal skills.
    • Flexible attitude and openness to new challenges.

    Desired Skills:

    • Knowledge of physical commodity business, particularly in metals and minerals trading.
    • Familiarity with derivative instruments.
    • Experience in risk management and understanding of related terms.
    • Prior exposure to SAP software.
    • Background in a multicultural work environment.
    • Basic understanding of accounting standards.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
