Main duties of the job
The Nursing Associate role within Primary Care is evolving and numbers within Devon continue to grow. We are keen to both recruit and retain Registered Nursing Associates (RNAs)/Student Nursing Associates (SNAs) and this role will build on existing work to raise the profile of the Nursing Associate role in General Practice and support both Registered and Student Nursing Associates in practice. The Practice Education Facilitator will be involved in coordinating a preceptorship programme for Nursing Associates and supporting the SNA/RNA network within Devon, as well as promoting preceptorship for all nurses in Primary Care and contributing to initiatives to recruit and retain Healthcare Assistants, Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates in General Practice.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Key duties and responsibilities
Raise awareness of the SNA/RNA role within primary care and the benefits it can provide to PCNs and Practices
Working in partnership to provide a high standard of education and support for SNAs and RNAs
Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans to embed the Nursing Associate role within Primary Care
Contribute to the development and implementation of a preceptorship programme in Primary Care for Nursing Associates and work with colleagues to raise the profile of preceptorship for Registered Nurses, promoting the support offer from DTH.
Support, teach (where appropriate) and act as a role model to Student/Registered Nursing Associates, Healthcare Assistants, and new members of staff, promoting reflection and providing constructive feedback.
Support PCNs to develop the educational infrastructure required to support apprentices and students.
Networking with other Nursing Associate leads within the region and nationally.
Contribute to workstreams aimed at promoting recruitment into Primary Care Nursing roles.
Build collaborative networks and work effectively with colleagues in Devon Training Hub
Work effectively with colleagues within the ICS and NHSE, working across the Southwest.
Prioritize and manage own workload.
