    Building Control Supervisor at a company in Essex

    £60.00 per hour (Umbrella)

    37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3+ Month Contract

    Kerry Collins is collaborating with a well-established client in Essex, searching for a Building Control Supervisor for an immediate 3+ Month Temporary Contract.

    The ideal candidate should be Registered as a Class 2, category A Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator, hold a Building Surveying Degree, and possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

    In place of a Building Surveying Degree, candidates with a Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or Membership of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (MCABE) or Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building MCIOB will be considered.

    Essential to have a solid understanding of all aspects of the relevant legislation; the Building Act, Building Regulations, and current construction methods.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate Building Regulation applications for compliance with the regulations and associated legislation.
    • Evaluate Approved Inspection Notices/Certificates for compliance and approval.
    • Conduct visits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and codes of practice.
    • Attend dangerous structures to provide advice and necessary actions.
    • Consult and collaborate with internal and external parties.
    • Serve notices and specifications as required by respective codes.
    • Maintain records of work, complaints, and provide necessary information.
    • Conduct checks and examinations to ensure compliance.
    • Prepare evidence for court hearings and other activities.
