What We Do
Join the Land Equipment Audit Team (LEAT) and play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and compliance of the UK Armed Forces both domestically and during operations. The Audit and Consultancy Team is instrumental in this mission. By becoming part of this team, you will contribute valuable insights and work on impactful audits that span across Regular, Reserve, and Cadets units. Moreover, you will have opportunities for frequent international travel.
Your primary goal as an Auditor will be to uphold high levels of policy adherence and standard compliance within the Army's engineering function.
This role involves work within the UK as well as in various overseas locations.
This full-time position offers 37 hours per week.

We are seeking an individual with a Level 3 Engineering qualification or its equivalent. Experience in quality assurance and performance enhancement systems is highly advantageous. While prior auditing qualifications are preferred, they can be acquired on the job by participating in the International Organisation for Standardisation Auditor course at no cost. This course is certified by both the Chartered Quality Institute and the International Register of Certificated Auditors.
Upon completion of this course, you will be equipped to bring globally recognized quality standards to all Army units. It will empower you with the necessary expertise to implement, maintain, and enhance the technical aspects of a quality management system, ensuring you are capable of tackling challenging technical elements within a management system standard or discipline. You will develop the skills to enhance existing management systems by assessing the efficacy of their implementation.
As a successful candidate, you will need to be a team player with strong communication skills to effectively share information and present recommendations and findings.
As an Auditor, your responsibilities will include auditing different areas in alignment with the Army's Policy for Land Equipment, making a significant contribution to sustaining the Army's combat capabilities. These areas include
The role comes with a designated permanent duty station, to be agreed upon individually. However, day-to-day auditing duties will necessitate visits both within the UK and overseas. Regular overnight stays across the UK and overseas, away from the duty station, will be required. Additionally, due to visits to locations with limited public transport, candidates are ideally expected to hold a Full UK Driving License Category B.
Travel expenses, including accommodation and meals, will be covered by the department. Candidates conducting audits overseas, which may involve weekend travel, are eligible for Travel Time allowances.
