    Job Title:
    Food Technology Teacher - Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

    Contract Type:
    Permanent

    Salary:
    £30,000 - £46,525 plus £2,539 SEN allowance per year


    We are thrilled to offer an opportunity for Food Technology Teachers with expertise in supporting students with Social Emotional Mental Health difficulties (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) to join our team at a specialist school in Great Crosby.

    The successful candidates will bring a passion for culinary education and a deep understanding of the unique needs of students with SEMH and ASC.

    This role provides the chance to make a meaningful impact by delivering tailored food technology education in a supportive environment.

    Immediate start available.


    Plan, deliver, and assess effective and engaging food technology lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with ASC and SEMH.


    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of each student.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
    • Regularly assess and track student progress in food technology, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as required.
    • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) in collaboration with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is preferred.
    • Experience teaching food technology to students with ASC and SEMH in a special education setting.
    • Knowledge of evidence-based strategies and interventions for supporting individuals with ASC and SEMH in food technology education.
