    With the expansion of Tropic's crop field trial portfolio, we have a new, exciting opportunity for a Crop Trials Study Manager to join the Product Evaluation team, supporting our global field trial strategy and regulatory efforts.

    Job Purpose

    Developing novel crop products in three tropical plant species requires field trialing in multiple geographical locations across several continents and the trials portfolio is aiming to increase from a single trial location to multiple geographical locations. Field trials to assess our products must be performed following local regulatory requirements in compliance with Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS) guidance.

    A Crop Trials Study Manager is required to facilitate managing the increasing number of trials running across multiple geographies simultaneously. The role will be responsible for glasshouse and field trial design, both independently and in collaboration with Tropic's partners. Primarily, the Crop Trials Study Manager will be responsible for monitoring field and glasshouse trials in multiple locations managing plant inventory, trial design, evaluation, and data analysis. As Tropic develops the field trial portfolio to support our expanding commercial activities, the Crop Trials Study Manager will be responsible for managing trials to support product development throughout the product life cycle. This includes proof of concept trials to identify leads to take to product development, through to pre-commercial and commercial field trials.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage a variety of regulated crop field studies.
    • Develop study protocols and protocol amendments, in collaboration with study participants and external collaborators.
    • Support applications for confined field test permits across different regulatory geographies.
    • Monitor the performance of external partners through regular interaction & occasional audit.
    • Evaluate field trial data and prepare study reports.

    Requirements

    Technical:

    • Ph.D., or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Agricultural Data Science or a closely related area).
    • Broad experience in crop field trial design, management, and data analysis.
    • Dedication to generation and interpretation of high-quality data and strict compliance with all relevant regulations

    Transferable:

    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Good ability to synthesis and summarize complex datasets.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills (Spanish language desirable)
    • Good team player, strong execution and flexibility to handle changes in a fast-paced environment.
