    NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) plans and buys healthcare services for our local population.

    We are accountable for the performance and finances of the NHS across Norfolk and Waveney – a total budget of £2 billion a year.

    Known as NHS Norfolk and Waveney, the organisation works with local people, health and care professionals, and partner organisations to improve the health and wellbeing of our population.

    The organisation is part of the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System.

    A system dedicated to working with partners in local government, the voluntary sector and others and helping the NHS to support broader social and economic development and to tackle inequalities in health outcomes.

    Our main offices are based at 8th Floor of Norfolk County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2UE however we have a local office for the East of the region based in Beccles and another in the West of the region based in King's Lynn, therefore travel across the Norfolk and Waveney footprint as well as out of county is required according to where our stakeholders are situated.

    Are you an experienced NHS Continuing Healthcare leader with a passion for excellent and integrated working? We are pleased to have a short term/secondment opportunity for twelve months to lead on the day-to-day operations of NHS CHC.

    Your expert knowledge and skills of NHS Continuing Healthcare will take the team to the next level as we focus on ensuring that our NHS Continuing Healthcare structure delivers the person centred, outcome focused care that we are developing as our delivery model.

    You will be responsible for delivering the day-to-day operations of CHC.

    This includes considering individuals for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS-funded Nursing Care, Fast Track and all other areas of the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare.

    The post holder will be responsible for the operational delivery of NHS CHC service on behalf of the Associate Director of Quality in Care and is required to provide, leadership and management to the CHC clinical team.

    The post holder will have responsibility and accountability for performance of the adult NHS Continuing Health Care portfolio to ensure the service delivered meets the statutory requirements of relevant NHS Frameworks and key performance indicators.

    The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and further developing a culture of high performance, ownership and accountability where safety, quality, excellence in patient outcomes and value are consistently delivered in line with national and locally agreed standards.

    The Head of Continuing Healthcare will have accountability for the development and training of employees, to ensure that the CHC team has the necessary skills, capability and capacity to deliver and to actively promote the values of the service.

    The post holder will be required to maintain and develop systems to allow for accurate reporting and monitoring of activity and spend.

    The post holder will be required to provide professional nursing advice and to deputise for the Associate Director of Quality in Care as required.

    The post holder will develop effective strategy and operational policies for promoting innovation across Norfolk and Waveney.

    Health and care services in Norfolk and Waveney are working closely together to further improve services and provide more joined-up care for local people.

    In Norfolk and Waveney, we have already achieved a lot by working in partnership to improve health and care outcomes.

    These changes have been made possible by different organisations – NHS hospitals, GPs, mental health and community health services, local councils, care homes and social workers, voluntary and community organisations and others – joining forces to agree and plan for local people's needs.

    This partnership and organisation dedicated to making sure that organisations work together for the benefit of our residents, staff and communities is an important step change, helping to create positive differences to local people and joining up health and social care.

    This is the culmination of many years of effort to build partnership working across the NHS, local authorities, the third sector and patient groups.

    Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
    Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent
    Evidence of continuing professional development (ahead on future developments in their area of expertise)
    Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy in Norfolk and Waveney and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
    Should have an appreciation of the relationship between NHS England/NHSI and individual provider and commissioning organisations
    Member of relevant professional body - specifically a current registrant of the NMC and hold the registration of RN, RMN or RNLD
    Ability to communicate with clinical, academic and all levels of staff effectively
    High level analytical skills and the ability to draw qualitative and quantitative data from a wide range of sources and present in a clear concise manner
    Ability to analyse numerical and written data, assess options and draw appropriate conclusions
    Demonstrates sound judgement in the absence of clear guidelines or precedent, seeking advice as necessary from more senior management when appropriate
    Leadership, vision, strategic thinking and planning with highly developed political skills
    Ability to demonstrate a high level of expertise in providing senior leadership
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate keyboard skills.
    Ability to travel to places of work that may not be accessible by public transport
    Extensive experience of managing budgets, lead and influence on budget setting and have a working knowledge of financial processes
    Will be required to travel within and outside of the CCG's geographical area.
    Hybrid Working
    The ICB operates a flexible approach to working. It is expected the majority of our staff will work from a combination of home and office (where possible).

    For staff designated in a hybrid role they should have a safe and suitable place to work with Broadband access and space for a desk, chair and monitors.
