Our client is a major and successful organisation and is one of the top performing companies in their sector within the UK, serving substantial number of customers across the region.
It is part of a large Group, which comprises a number of other companies,including engineering and construction, property development and waste management and renewable energy services.
They now have a new opportunity for a full time Trainee Civil Engineer.
This will initially be a temporary position with the intention of it becoming permanent in 2023 after an extensive training programme.
As an entry level position, our client will train and develop your knowledge and education into a wide range of civil engineering skill sets.
As a Trainee Civil Engineer, you will be working as part of the development team ensuring new developments are built to the right standards and on time, working closely with developers, local councils, and the general public.
- Working with housing developers on all aspects of new developments.
- Liaising with local councils, the public and external stakeholders.
- Assessment, processing, and approval of the developer's proposals.
- Issuing technical plans/ instructions and conducting onsite inspections to ensure industry safety and construction standards are met.
- To ensure new developments are built to the right standards and on time.
- Strong and effective communication skills to speak to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Delivering a professional, high quality service.
Background:
- Ideally, but not essential
- A civil engineering related qualification, either HNC or Degree level.
- Strong experience of Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Basic understanding of building and construction practices.
- Ability to demonstrate a good standard of written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, outgoing, enthusiastic individual with the passion and determination to succeed
- Acute attention to detail with excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads
- Confidence in learning new systems and skills, alongside constructively conveying innovative ideas.
- Flexibility able to adapt approach when individuals or the situation requires.
- Selfdriven, confident, and highly organised.
- Full driving licence.
