    Brief Description

If you're looking for your next career move and want an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills and make a difference in the field, then this is the role for you

We're currently seeking a Principal Programme Sponsor to join our Passenger Strategy team. This role requires a highly motivated individual to direct a team of highly skilled professionals to successfully develop and deliver major renewals and enhancement projects/programmes. As the improvement programmes are funded by the government or a customer, stakeholder, or multiple funders, there will be an opportunity for cross-functional collaboration with a diverse team.

We'd like the successful candidate to have an understanding of the challenges of rolling out new technology (such as ETCS) and the wider business changes that are linked to this process. You'll have experience with complex system integration within the rail industry, and experience within the wider industry of working with partners to bring about major cross-organisational changes. It would be advantageous for you to be able to work in a sophisticated organisational environment; leading programmes with multiplex and interdependent schedules across multiple parties.

Network Rail operates and maintains the railway infrastructure 24/7 365 days a year. We do work that matters to millions. And we do it in millions of different ways.

We're passionate about great service and commit to our service equation vision by "putting passengers first". Performance, safety and getting the fundamental basics right, are something we strive for as well as asking ourselves - what can we do to put our passengers and freight users at the centre of everything we do?

You will be part of the North West & Central Region (NW&C) which consists of three routes – North West, Central and West Coast South – and a regional team supporting Regional Major Programmes & Professional services.

To find out more about us -

This role can be based from one of our core locations in the North-West & Central Region: Birmingham, London or Milton Keynes.
