    Description

    Role: Training & Development Manager

    Contract: 6-month fixed term contract

    Hours: Part-time - 3 days a week

    Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham

    About the Role

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Training & Development Manager to join our team on a 6-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating training plans, coordinating training activities, and managing various training projects. The Training & Development Manager will play a key role in enhancing the skills and performance of both new hires and existing employees. This position requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of adult learning principles.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and implement comprehensive training plans to ensure new employees are effectively onboarded and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge
    • Organise and manage cross-training programmes for existing employees to promote versatility and skill development within the workforce
    • Regularly assess the effectiveness of trainers by monitoring evaluation scores and providing feedback for continuous improvement
    • Evaluate and track the competency levels of training participants to ensure training objectives are met and identify areas for further development
    • Oversee and manage various training projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
    • Review and update current training material providing training efficiencies to support business growth
    • Hold regular one-on-one meetings with trainers to provide support, address challenges, and foster professional growth
    • Continuously review and update training policies to reflect the latest industry standards and best practices

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a Training Manager or similar role
    • Strong understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills
    • Effective communication and presentation abilities
    • Ability to work collaboratively with different departments and stakeholders
    • Proficiency in using training software and tools
