The role
Responsible for a team of c60 people, the role of the Production Manager is to proactively lead and manage the Blow Moulding & Blending Department's to successfully deliver all performance criteria in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People (SQCDP) throughthe involvement and engagement of the Blow Moulding & Blending team.
Developing a culture of Continuous Improvement to ensure incremental and sustained YoY performance improvement, the business values a collaborative approach, therefore this role requires the ability to develop a culture of Operational Excellence and encouragingall team members to influence and drive improvements.
Requirements:
Key responsibilities:
- Safety encourage the team to adopt a proactive approach to Safety (e.g.
- Safety Walks, HSG65 Management System, Near Miss Reporting, Safety Reps etc...) to successfully deliver the Blow Moulding & Blending Safety KPI's.
- Quality targeting an aspirational 'Zero Loss', engage the team in a proactive approach to Quality (e.g.
- Quality Walks, 15 Minute Audit Ready Standards, Good For Production Process etc...) to successfully deliver the Blow Moulding & Blending QualityKPI's.
- Cost develop and deliver annual budgets for Blow Moulding & Blending. Utilising Continuous Improvement (e.g.
- Lean Tools & Techniques) to drive YoY improvements in OEE, Direct Labour Variances, Waste and Overheads. To identify effective capital expenditureopportunities in Blow Moulding & Blending and to execute these on time and within budget.
- Delivery working with key stakeholders to ensure Blow Moulding achieves its Conformance to Plan targets to underpin excellent Customer Service to customers whilst keeping stock levels as low as is practicable.
- People using a coaching approach ensure effective communication, appraisal, training, succession planning, absence management etc... processes are in place in Blow Moulding & Blending.
Applicants will need to demonstrate the following experience:
- An ability to influence optimisation levels and achieve increased OEE
- A desire to achieve and exceed compliance standards, with CI at the forefront of the agenda
- Strong leadership and staff development capabilities
- A natural ability to manage and communicate with teams operating across rolling shift patterns.
