Workforce Research Coordinator


Salary:
£25,000 to £30,000 per year basic plus pension. 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.

Reports to:
Retrofit Careers and Workforce Development Lead

Location:

Flexible - can be home-based (with periodic visits to head office in Stafford), hybrid based out of our Stafford office or potential to work out of a potential southeast office.

Basis of Employment: 12-month fixed term contract with potential to become permanent

The Role


As a Workforce Research Coordinator for TRA you will be responsible for supporting a range of social/market research projects across the breadth of partners we work with.

The role will involve designing, delivering, analysing and reporting on qualitative, quantitative and secondary research activities exploring the future of the UK retrofit workforce.

This may include developing surveys to investigate organizational skills gaps, interviews with key stakeholders to understand barriers or desk research to analyse key data in our National Retrofit Database.


In addition to supporting on key research activities, you will be expected to support on delivering The Retrofit Academy's partnership working and business development activities.

Through close working with the Retrofit Careers and Workforce Development Lead and the Head of Partnerships, you will be involved in activities that support our partners to understand and develop their retrofit workforce requirements, enabling us to meet our objectives to develop 200,000 'Retrofit Professionals' by 2030.

You will be working with Net Zero Hubs, Local Enterprise Partnerships, local authorities, housing associations, employers and training providers.

By engaging with these networks, you will provide valuable insight to TRA and our partners that will ultimately result in increased training capacity in domestic retrofit, increased graduate numbers and the creation of high-quality jobs in a new sector, as well as developing income streams for The Retrofit Academy and its partners.


Person Specification
You will have a research background from a relevant degree and/or relevant professional experience in the social/market research sector.

A sound understanding of social/market research methodologies for delivering robust quantitative and qualitative research projects, and experience in the social/market research sector is highly desired, though not essential.


You will have excellent general research skills to undertake a variety of projects and be able produce high quality communications, for instance, reports, presentations and blog articles.


The postholder will have strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint with meticulous attention to detail and be exceptionally organised.

In addition, the post holder will be familiar with relevant data analysis tools and approaches. Skills or experience with big data analysis (e.g. through R, Python, or similar) will be advantageous, though not essential.


An ability to work independently in a busy multi-task environment as well as part of a dynamic and supportive team is essential.

You will want to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with continuous change.

You will be able to work effectively with colleagues within the Academy across corporate functions including HR, marketing and finance.

You will have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with others at all levels.

You will be able to self-motivate and work without close supervision.

As you are likely to be working under a hybrid arrangement, you must be comfortable working remotely, but also willing to work in an office environment in order to foster a collaborative and team approach.

You must be willing to travel extensively across the UK if required.
