WHAT TO EXPECT
This role sits within Manufacturing Engineering – BIW Facilities Conveyor Team. This role will support JLR's global manufacturing strategy and deliver world class facility solutions through product implementation programmes, technology innovation and legacy facility improvement projects. BIW Facilities Conveyor Team are responsible for introduction of new facilities, materials product lines and new/ current vehicle freshening programs into JLR's Solihull site .
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Assess feasibility of new facilities and processes, development and management of projects for cost, quality and timing
• Support the area by providing the required capability and capacity at JLR facilities and supporting equipment, aligned to the programme milestones, launch plans and production requirements.
• Develop robust/lean layout solutions to support facility project delivery or process/operational efficiency improvements.
• Manage, maintain and develop all Health, Safety and Operational Risk Management processes and site-specific processes and systems at the area.
• Contribute to the on-going Environmental Innovation and Reporting (Energy, Water, Waste) compliance with Jaguar Land Rover standards.
• Co-ordinate the support and input of all relevant stakeholders to achieve acceptance, buy-off and successful handover of new or modified facilities.
• Be responsible for management of facility documentation on the projects they work on in line with Manufacturing Engineering procedures, supporting TS, ISO, SHARP, LQOS & FPS internal and external audits.
• Lead & partake in multifunctional New Equipment Procurement Teams through all project phases ensuring company procurement procedures are met & adhered to.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• A sound engineering and manufacturing background with previous experience in Facilities Development and Engineering.
• Proven experience and understanding of process conveyor technologies.
• Experience of reliability and maintainability principals and an understanding of the environmental impacts of engineering solutions.
• Ability to control & Manage suppliers (both Material & Equipment).
• Ability to control & manage project budgets.
• Have a working knowledge of the application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Have the ability to work unsupervised (at times) to a set of objectives & targets.
• Must be flexible with regard to working hours as role requires after hours, weekend & Shutdown working delivering objectives & targets.
