New service coming soon

We are excited to announce that we are working with Bury Council and housing partners on a scheme which will open in August 2024.

The name of the scheme is currently St Mary's, however this will be renamed by the new tenants.

St Mary's is a beautiful property in the centre of Bury comprising 8 self-contained flats for young adults aged with mild learning disability and/or autism.

St Mary's is designed to support young adults aged 18-25 with mild learning disability and/or autism.

The purpose is to support the development of people's independence for a maximum of two years, after which they will be supported by other services in Bury.

About you

Are you a person who thrives on making a positive difference and enjoys empowering people to succeed?

We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting young adults on their journey to independence.

Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or autism is not essential as you will be supported with training and learning opportunities relevant to the role.

What is important is that you share our values and that you want to see people be the best that they can be.

No one will meet every single desired qualification. If your experience looks a little different from what we're saying and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to learn more about you

About the role

You will work waking nights as part of the team and will be supported by the service manager and registered manager.

As part of the role, your approach will be to facilitate and support learning which builds confidence and life skills, developing appropriate relationships with the young adults, their families and wider professionals whilst maintaining a supportive approach to each young adult.

Depending on the needs of the young adults within the service, there may also be some support with personal care such as supporting with medication.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service which will positively impact the future lives of the young adults who will be living at St Mary's.

Further information about the role can be found in the
job description**.
