Description
We are looking for a flexible,
self-employed/freelance, part time Flight Coordinator to support our expanding business at Manchester Airport. Start date will be as soon as possible.


The position will suit someone with airport handling experience wishing to broaden their knowledge to include all aspects of airline operations.


Global Air Support (GAS) has been assisting airlines with airport ground operations for over 15 years, we support a growing number of operators within the UK.


Overall Objective
In addition we offer Airport Services Support to various travel companies and cruise lines.


Responsibilities

  • To be in attendance during the operational hours of the aircraft turnaround. i.e. during checkin and on arrival of the aircraft through to departure.
  • To act at all times in the best interests of the airline and represent them in a high profile and professional manner
  • Endeavour to assist and improve ontime performance
  • Deal with questions and problems associated with travelling guests, including but not limited to; ticketing, passports, visas, excess baggage, denied boarding, late checkin and missed flights
  • To ensure all checkin desks are ready and staff are available 3 hours prior to the Scheduled Time of Departure. All relevant display boards and passenger information is made available
  • Monitoring and enforcing cabin bag allowance and make sure it is adhered to at checkin and at gate as per airline policy
  • Meet aircraft at gate, liaise with crew, ensure smooth boarding and correct loading processes have been adhered to within the airline loading instructions
  • Complete flight management report
  • Monitor and report on ground handling services, identifying weaknesses and areas of improvements

Experience

  • Airport Handling Agent / Airline experience
    Essential

  • Minimum level of education GCSE or equivalent
    Required:
  • Ability to provide 5 years references

Working Hours

  • Dependent on operational requirements some early starts, some late finishes, mínimal night duties
  • Shortest shift length 3 hours, however most shifts are longer
