    Job Summary

    Health and Care Research Wales is a research infrastructure funded by the Division of Research & Development, Welsh Government, with the aim of being internationally recognized for its impactful health and social care research in Wales. Established in 2015, the Support and Delivery infrastructure provides centralized functions and services at both national and local levels to enhance research efficiency and competitiveness in Wales.

    The NHS R&D Departments, led by a R&D Director, offer local research support services and oversee the sponsoring and hosting of studies within each UHB. As part of this, a NHS research delivery team comprises Research Nurses, Clinical Studies Officers, Research Officers, and Administrators to support high-quality health and social care studies, with the Senior Research Nurse playing a crucial role.

    Main Duties of the Job

    This position is fixed-term/secondment for 2 years to fulfill service requirements. We are looking for candidates with experience in research delivery or specialized clinical knowledge, who are enthusiastic about advancing research goals, leadership, and providing top-notch research opportunities for patients.

    An exciting opportunity is available for a Band 7 Senior Research Nurse / Team Lead within the Research Delivery Team to lead and develop the Vaccine Research Team at the University Hospital of Wales. This role involves managing a research team supporting projects across the Health Board, focusing on expanding the vaccine portfolio across various disease specialties with commercial and non-commercial teams.

    Knowledge of Welsh is beneficial for this role; applicants fluent in Welsh and/or English are encouraged to apply. Attendance at pertinent national vaccine meetings is mandatory.
