    Senior Auditor Salary:
    £58,550 - £67,200 p.a (London)£51,000 - £60,858 p.a (Newcastle)Plus an excellent benefits package, including 35 days of annual leave per yearCivil Service Employer Pension Contribution of 27.9% The National Audit Office (NAO) supports parliament to hold government to account and to improve public services. To focus on driving long-term sustainable improvement in public service delivery and work with government and their stakeholders to deliver better performance.     As the NAO continues to provide crucial accountability for UK Taxpayers, they are looking to recruit talented, high-performing individuals to their Senior Auditor role to lead and deliver some of their key audit engagements.

    The role offers a great opportunity for newly qualified and experienced Chartered Accountants who are looking to develop their skills and make an impact through their work.

    Applicants should have a strong working knowledge of financial audit procedures, with an interest in public sector audit. Those with experience in auditing companies and charities are also encouraged to apply.

    Using technical knowledge and the ability to manage tasks and projects to deliver high-quality work across the financial audit practice.


    • Contributing to the development of financial audit, and supporting improvements in audit methodology and software.
    • Working in accordance with the NAO's values and culture whilst championing diversity and inclusion.

    Senior Auditor's work on the most complex engagements to deliver a portfolio which leads to the certification of clients' annual reports and accounts.

    They deliver high-quality and cutting-edge audit work to international audit standards and drive value-for-money studies and investigations.

    Under the Civil Service Nationality Rules Guidance 2023, only nationals from the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland or the Commonwealth are eligible for employment in the Civil Service.
