    Default job background
    Description

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed midwives with proven post registration experience to join our community team in Clacton/Harwich.

The role in community is currently a traditional model of care for the antenatal and postnatal period and includes providing care and support for the midwife-led birthing unit and the home birth service.

The post holder must have a passion for providing continuity of care for women and their families and be willing to work as part of a continuity of care model, as this is developed within ESNEFT.

The post holder will act as an advocate for women and their families receiving maternity care and as a role model for junior staff members and students.

The post holder will work in a variety of venues including community establishments, (GP's practices, community centres and halls) birthing units, or the maternity unit at the hospital in addition to women's own homes to provide them with antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care and education.

The post holder will have a responsibility to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults by undertaking the appropriate levels of training, complying with Trust safeguarding policies and being aware of relevant referral pathways.

The post holder is expected to display behaviours and attitudes, which promote and respect dignity and privacy in line with Trust policies.

The post holder will be expected to work as a team providing antenatal, intrapartum (predominantly homebirth) and postnatal care 7 days a week, with on overnight on call requirement for homebirths.

We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex.

Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics and in patients' own homes.

We are the largest NHS organisation in East Anglia, employing more than 12,000 staff.

Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts.

Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offer a variety of services.

This digital transformation will bring what's widely regarded as the world's best EPR system to ESNEFT, transforming life in hospital for staff and patients.

If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge, then we want to hear from you.
