Description
An exciting, 21 month Fixed Term Contract opportunity has arisen for the Wheelchair Specialist Occupational Therapist role in Specialist, Systems Operations, and Children's Services (SSOCS) within NCH& C.
To undertake advanced assessment and prescription of specialist wheelchairs and accessories for children and adults with palliative diagnoses life-limiting diagnoses learning difficulties neurological impairment developmental and congenital problems general frailty multiple pathology and who frequently have a highly complex presentation and highly complex communication needs.
This may include liaising with private mobility shops, charities, and the Trust Finance Department.For full details please refer to the attached Job Description (JD)

Evidence of specialist knowledge and skills acquired through post graduate courses attended
Meeting Senior and develop towards specialist competencies
Oxford Centre for Enablement - posture management for people with complex disability post-graduate (or similar level of education)
At least 2 years work experience post qualification
Include type / area of work experience required i.e. line management experience
IT skills - Microsoft Office
Wheelchair programming experience including Linx and R-net
Able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English Language
Experience in supervising or managing staff, delivering training etc.
Able to identify with the Trust's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults.
The post holder will need to be passed fit to perform full duties of the post through occupational health with any reasonable aids and adaptations if necessary.
Experience driving large vehicles (a van that weighs up to 3.5 tonnes - standard cover of a UK driving license).
