The Role:
As a Tax Senior/Consultant, you will have a crucial role in the team, supporting a Partner with various tasks including:
- Assisting the Partner in overseeing a large portfolio of private tax clients such as property landlords, partnerships, sole traders, High Net Worth clients using CCH Tax software.
- Being the primary contact, together with the Partner, for potential new clients from initial meetings to onboarding processes involving due diligence, engagement letters, and fee quotes.
- Managing and controlling tax return compliance to meet targets and preparing weekly performance data.
- Preparing annual P11D forms for around 140 clients.
- Completing Trust tax returns and ensuring the Trust tax register is up to date.
- Conducting farmers averaging calculations for optimal tax positions.
- Handling capital gains tax calculations for individuals, including relief claims.
- Handling new CGT returns for residential property sales.
- Calculating principal private residence relief/letting relief, holdover elections for business asset gifts.
- Providing tax advice and research for the Partner to present to clients.
- Managing EIS/SEIS investments and processing Income Tax Relief and CGT Deferral claims.
- Interacting with HMRC on behalf of clients for inquiries and penalty appeals.
- Keeping abreast of technical knowledge by attending courses and webinars to meet CPD requirements.
