  • Do you want to help us and our partner organisations to be better prepared for incidents and emergencies? This is your opportunity to experience the varied work of the Area Incident Team and work with local and national colleagues to ensure our staff are trained and prepared to respond to all types of environmental and flooding incidents. You will work with several teams, departments and partners to help plan for and minimise the impact of incidents and improve our incident management arrangements.

You can expect to:
Assist in roster management to ensure we can respond to a wide range of incidents
Support our emergency planning activities.

Assist the development of a cross-cutting training and exercising programme and deliver role-specific training to some of our response roles.

Contribute and provide secretariat support to our multi-functional Role Delivery Lead Network and help address role resilience issues.

Be a superuser for some of our incident management IT tools and systems (training provided) and maintain equipment in a state of readiness.

Have an incident response role, which may include out of hours working and / or attendance at our Incident Room in Wallingford (full training provided and we aim to accommodate flexible working).

Travel to meetings in Wallingford and Reading on a regular basis.

You will need to:
work collaboratively inside and outside of the team to deliver improvements and results
accurately update incident procedures, guidance and training materials
demonstrate inclusive, health, safety and wellbeing behaviours.
Experience in incident management or emergency planning would be an advantage.

Your base location would be one of our Thames Area Offices and you will be expected to travel to Wallingford and Reading for team meetings on a regular basis.
