    Will you be our next Interim Director of Operational Resilience & Safety?

    Responsible to: CEO

    Department: Safe Scouting

    Base location: Homebased or Hybrid, Gilwell Park, Chingford, London with UK travel and flexibility

    Term: Fixed term contract for 6 months

    Salary: £90,000 per annum, Band I

    Hours: 37 hours per week

    Line management responsibility: Head of Safety and Safeguarding

    A bit about the role

    Across the Operations teams we're feeling the pressures of the amount of work that we collectively need to undertake, especially as we go through a period of change with other key senior staff moving on from TSA.

    Major areas of work moving forwards include our ongoing response to the issues from the inquest, our safety transformation work, delivering growth across the movement, stabilising our programme team, implementing the learning from the World Scouting Jamboree and creating new standard operating practices, implementing learnings in our Safeguarding work, implementing the new assurance framework, and ultimately creating a new operational strategy to ensure all our work is aligned and that we are delivering greatest value for the movement.

    We have a great team, who are passionate and committed, but we need to create more senior level capacity to deal with the level of work and to ensure that all that we deliver is undertaken in partnership with the numerous stakeholders we have.

    To respond to all of these areas and more, were creating this new role, which will likely become permanent but at present there is a lot of ambiguity which the post-holder and Executive Director of Operations will need to work through. When we have done this we will then look to create the final version of this role.

    This is a new role but will work alongside other 'Chief' roles to ensure we are delivering the highest levels of support for all stakeholders and have robust leadership in place.
