The Role


We are looking to hire a passionate, personable, and community conscious individual to become our new Foodbank Adviser working from the King's Lynn foodbank.

As an NCA Foodbank Adviser, you will be tackling underlying causes of poverty and hardship by providing accredited advice and support on a range of issues to both foodbank users and volunteers.

Your intensive support will make a resounding difference to the lives of people accessing foodbanks and, as a result, the community as a whole.


You will be assisting with the upskilling of King's Lynn foodbank volunteers by helping them better identify issues, provide appropriate advice, and enable foodbank users to develop resilience and self-confidence in their lives.

The scope of your role will also allow you to help guide the project into the future.

What we are looking for

We will provide full training.

However, we will favour applicants who demonstrate the following experience:

  • Knowledge of a range of advice issues and an ability to identify safeguarding concerns and how to make onward referrals to the appropriate authority
  • Knowledge of specific advice issues relating to welfare benefits (including Universal Credit), Debt, Housing and Employment
  • Good IT knowledge and an ability to support clients to access information using IT systems
  • Previous experience as an accredited adviser in a similar work environment
  • Experience of supporting volunteers

Salary:
£23,144.00 per year
