    Job summary

    We have some really exciting opportunities at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We are seeking a number of Senior Clinical Fellows to join our team. These are exciting opportunities to work in a renowned teaching hospital with an acclaimed research team. These are one year fixed-term posts, with the possibility to extend. Our posts include 30% non-clinical time in a specialist interest of your choice - Ultrasound, Education (SIM Fellow), QI and Research, Critical Care Medicine or Digital EM. These roles may be of particular interest to higher trainees on OOP and post-CCT.

    Opportunities are also available to apply for our internal CESR training rotations and support is provided for those wishing to pursue completion of the CESR pathway, apply for a training post or complete exams. We also have an array of exciting management and leadership courses that are available to enrol plus support for Trauma, UTC and Paediatric EDT, Support for MRCEM exams, Support for ALS / ATLS / APLS (all in house).

    Main duties of the job

    The clinical commitment comprises a full shift pattern, including out-of-hours work.

    The postholder should be of registrar grade or equivalent and fully registered with the GMC. The post is suitable as a stand-alone experience and candidates holding a national training number looking for an out-of-programme experience (OOPE) are encouraged to apply. For information on seeking prospective GMC approval for training please refer to the GMC website and your local training leads.

    In addition to the protected non-clinical time the postholder will work a full shift pattern including early, late and night shifts providing 24-hour cover with a 1 in 3 weekend commitment supported by ED consultants directly and remotely and a 24-hour consultant delivered trauma service. The shift pattern is new deal compliant with a 1A banding (subject to change to comply with new working practices).

    The postholder will be allocated a consultant clinical and educational supervisor and opportunities to complete work-based assessments, audit, quality improvement projects and partake in research. The department delivers a full teaching programme and monthly ED governance meetings.

    Emergency medicine senior clinical fellow post

    Central London Major Trauma Centre

    University teaching hospital with academic and research opportunities

    Flexible start date and self-rostering

    One-year fixed-term with the possibility to extend

    Minimum protected 160 hours non-clinical time annually

    30% non-clinical time annually to pursue special interests in Digital EM, ultrasound, simulation, QI and research or critical care medicine.

    Opportunity for internal CESR rotations in anaesthetics, ICU and acute medicine

    Support to complete CESR pathway

    Person Specification

    Relevant experience in specialty/Sub specialty

  • 2 years or more Emergency Medicine experience
