- Undergraduate degree in psychology or related social/ health sciences
- Post-graduate qualification, or equivalent research experience in psychology/ psychiatry or closely cognate discipline (e.g. social science) ICH Good Clinical Practice
- Knowledge of / familiarity with services for patients with neurodevelopmental disorders OR experience of health service research
- Experience of developing and managing research projects, ideally in health or neurodevelopmental disorders

This post offers unrivalled opportunity to undertake high quality research within an outstanding academic and clinical environment We are looking for a motivated research assistant with a passion to explore research. The successful candidate would ideally have an MSc in Social or Health Psychology, or a closely related field. Excellent research project management and associated organisational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience with semi-structured interviewing, thematic analysis, longitudinal data collection and analysis, and general data management is essential. The post holder will report and be accountable to Dr Michelle Heys, Consultant Paediatrician (ELFT) and Associate Professor in Community and Population Child Health (UCL) who has a particular interest in health services research, participatory approaches and working with vulnerable groups, including Specialist Children and Young People's Services SCYP with complex neurodisability. Main duties of the job To support the delivery of the project: Novel procedures for evaluating autism online in an ethnically diverse population of children and young people. Telehealth may provide a valid and reliable to for facilitating the diagnostic assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This would both reduce waiting lists and support the preparation of education healthcare plans to benefit children in school. This study aims to explore novel procedures for evaluating autism online, producing a semi-automated cost-effective process for autism diagnostic assessment. During the course of this 2-year program of research we aim to develop a validated methodology for the evaluation of suspected autism spectrum disorders that, when fully implemented, will be applicable to communities throughout the UK, irrespective of their ethnic diversity and which will be tailored to surmount language barriers. She/he will actively promote research amongst clinicians, service users and the wider NHS. Additionally, the post-holder will be responsible for collecting, analysing and reporting on research data pertaining to specific projects. The post-holder will undertake statistical data analysis using complex methods and established software packages and be involved in the publication and dissemination/utilisation of findings.
