    Description

    The purpose of this role is to support the EMEA Direct Tax team, which manages all direct tax issues across more than 20 jurisdictions. The role reports into the EMEA Direct Tax Senior Manager and responsibilities will primarily be in direct tax reporting, compliance, and support for projects across EMEA, including Finance and Tax Transformation.

    Tax compliance:

    Support the EMEA Direct Tax team with compliance for UK and EMEA jurisdictions:

  • Assist with review and/or preparation of tax computations, including working with external advisors as needed/required.
  • Work with Chubb Finance and external advisors to ensure returns are prepared timely and accurately.
  • Assist tax team to ensure true ups to provision are calculated and booked in real time as tax returns are filed.
  • Assist with the preparation / review of any transfer pricing returns / documentation, supported by the transfer pricing team.
  • Support on tax audits as they arise.

    • Tax reporting:

    Support the EMEA Direct Tax team with the US, French and Local GAAP tax reporting processes including:

  • Assist with the preparation of the quarterly US GAAP tax provision for entities allocated.
  • Assist with the preparation of the tax reporting disclosure in the statutory accounts for entities allocated.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Tax Accounts under all GAAPs including ensuring entries required are booked timely.
  • Assist with French GAAP and Solvency GAAP calculations and entries.
  • Assist with timely and accurate journals bookings.
  • Assist with responses to any audit queries.

    • Tax payments:

    Support the EMEA Direct Tax team in the management of tax payments including:

  • Monitor payment dates for entities allocated and ensure that payments made on time.
  • Calculate and/or work with advisors to ensure correct payment made.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the cash tax payment forecast schedule.
  • Assist team to ensure payments made are booked correctly and are captured in the reporting process.

    • Process improvement:

    Support improvement of current reporting and compliance processes for standardisation and automation to drive efficiency.

    Legislation changes across the EMEA:

    Support EMEA Direct Tax Team by monitoring and highlighting legislative changes across EMEA.

    Tax Projects:

    Support EMEA tax team on any projects.

  • ACA qualified / part qualified and/or CTA qualified/part qualified or equivalent preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Any additional European language skills will be looked on favourably.
  • The successful candidate will have experience of UK tax compliance and tax reporting, preferably with a significant multinational group.
  • The candidate should have gained direct Corporate Tax experience in a tax department (preferably in-house).
  • A good understanding of accounting and working across multiple GAAPs.
  • Financial Services experience, including Insurance would be an advantage.
  • They will have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and be up to date with current developments.
  • They should have experience of tax audit defence.
  • They should have experience of working with third parties, including auditors and tax advisers.
  • Flexible, adapt easily to a changing environment and work with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
