    Job summary

    We are looking to recruit and train enthusiastic healthcare and administrative professionals with a keen interest in digital healthcare to our Electronic Health Record (EHR) team. The successful candidates will join an experienced and diverse team of analysts who support UCLH's digital EHR.Patients are at the centre of everything we do. Our Electronic Health Record, Epic, helps to ensure that we continue to get better at delivering services and treatment plans designed around patient needs. Our vision is to create a digitally enabled organisation that supports the delivery of efficient and effective patient care, achieved through easy-to-use systems that provide staff and patients with access to the right information, in the right place, at the right time. To help us to achieve this vision, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our EHR have vacancies in the following applications:

    o Clin Doco Orderso Willow inpatient, ambulatory and inventoryo Patient Access & Flow (Epic applications: Grand Central, Springboard, Cadence, Prelude and Welcome)o Ambulatory (including Bones)o Research (clinical trials)o OpTime & Anaesthesiao Health Information Management (Epic applications: HIM, Identity & Clinical Coding)o MyCharto Epic Care Linko Radianto Users & Security

    Please note interviews for this role will be held virtually between 1st and 3rd July and candidates will need to be available on these dates.

    Main duties of the job

    We work closely with clinical, administrative and managerial staff; we analyse their processes and help them agree clinical best practice standards and workflows. The team modify Epic to reflect and support these working practices. We test changes to ensure that they fulfil organisation requirements, are safe, and work as expected. We provide support to end-users using our specialist application knowledge through regular meetings and through incident investigation and resolution. We have excellent relationships with departmental leads, super-users and subject matter experts who help prioritise our workstreams. We have a rolling upgrade programme which delivers new features and functionality to ensure the system is up-to-date.Candidates who are already Epic certified will be employed at band 7. Candidates who do not have a certification will start at band 6 and undertake a period of training to obtain certification in the relevant Epic module. You will progress to a Band 7 when you achieve certification and demonstrate competence via assessment across all elements of the role. You will be fully supported by your manager and team throughout this process.Applicants without an Epic certification will be required to undertake the Epic aptitude assessment (the Sphinx test) prior to interview.

    Knowledge and Qualifications

    Essential

  • Educated to Masters level, equivalent professional qualification including professional registration or equivalent experience
  • Excellent operational knowledge of the advertised area including relevant operational policies and procedures
  • Epic Certification

  • Ability to understand the requirements of and work effectively within a demanding project environment
  • IT or software configuration experience
  • Previous experience of working within complex cultural environment
  • Understanding of clinical, administrative and /or operational workflows and processes within a hospital environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience of supporting change management

  • Previous NHS or healthcare experience

  • Ability to understand highly complex problems, analyse and document workflows and current practice, identifying opportunities for change
  • The ability to maintain issues logs and work to a project plan
  • Sound organisation and planning skills ability to prioritise a demanding workload in a high pressure and very challenging environment, maintaining delivery of quality outputs to tight deadlines and frequent interruptions
  • Have the ability to work alone as well as working with other work streams when and where necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels in the organisation, including clinical staff and managerial staff as well as with external suppliers
  • Intermediate knowledge of IT systems and software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to impart knowledge and/or present to others in a clear and concise manner
  • Able to work collaboratively with own team members as well as those in other application teams
  • Good analytical and project management skills
  • Confident in working with, negotiating with and motivating clinical staff, medical consultants and/or other senior managers
  • Ability to make decisions based on highly complex facts or situations requiring analysis, interpretation or comparison of a range of options
