The operational plan has opened up a new apprenticeship standard for the company to employ a safety, health and environment apprentice.

This opportunity will result in a wider operational role for this multi-site organisation. Fablink are proud of their apprenticeship programs and been recognised and awarded the apprentice company of the year. You will coordinate/undertake risk assessment and accident investigation activities.


What will the apprentice be doing?:

  • Working with management and teams to advise on statutory Health Safety & Environmental requirements

Working towards:

  • Provide technical safety and health support and information to all employees to ensure employees are operating in a safe, orderly, and clean environment
  • Coordinate and administer safety training initiatives for the company to ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations and company and customer policies and procedures
  • Coordinate/undertake risk assessment and accident investigation activities
  • Identify, design and develop company health and safety management systems, training programs, and procedures as well as enforcing regulatory regulations and company policies
  • Work alongside operational teams to improve the working environment
  • Make recommendations on process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?:

  • Work towards completion of Level 3 Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Technical Apprenticeship modules
  • IOSH membership at technical level
  • On programme duration 1618 months
  • Level 2 English and maths, (if exemptions are not applied)
  • Training will be given both theorybased and practical within the workplace and 2 days per month release
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in occupational health & safety

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?:

  • Multi-site responsibility for Health, safety and environment
  • Part of the organisational management team
  • Progress to Level 6 NEBOSH qualification
  • Future career prospects within the senior leadership team

Things to consider:


  • The ability to both instruct and negotiate with all levels in order to proactively improve health and safety within the organisation. The ability to deal with conflict calmly, be able to learn and utilise other people's skill sets to help in your own self development. A proactive view on health and safety look at prevention rather than reaction.

of manufacturing space and can fabricate steel assemblies of up to 5 tonnes allowing it to become the hub of Fablink's heavier products, including fuel & hydraulic tanks, ADT Operator cabs and safety structures.

This move complimented the existing sites of Wolverhampton, which manufacturers pressings & welded assemblies and Brixworth, home to the Group's Technical Centre, which also produces specialist vehicle assemblies, lightweight aluminium structures and Operator cabs.

Our current Apprenticeship rates of pay are: Age16-17 £5.50 Age 18-20 £7.50 Age21-22 £9.50

  • Thursday 8.00am 4.30pm Friday 8:00am 1:00pm Evenwood and Tursdale locations as the roles progresses visits to other sites in the UK
