    Job Summary

    We are searching for experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses located in Birmingham on a flexible 24/7 zero-hour contract. This role provides top-notch care to patients in various business streams such as secure patient transport and therapeutic observational services. The ideal candidate will ensure patient safety, dignity, and act responsibly within the scope of their role, overseeing themselves and their team while having a solid understanding of the Mental Health Act and relevant policies.

    Main Duties of the Job

    The successful candidate will exhibit high levels of therapeutic care across all business areas while leading a team of healthcare professionals in potentially demanding situations.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Adhering to company guidelines for vehicle and equipment checks before commencing a journey.
    • Reporting any issues or replacing stock to the Fleet Manager/Supervisor.
    • Implementing security policies and procedures to safeguard staff, patients, and the public.
    • Contributing towards the company's objectives and understanding responsibilities regarding equality and diversity.
    • Ensuring accurate record-keeping and effective communication with patients and staff.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Provide care to individuals with mental health conditions, establishing therapeutic relationships.
    • Manage mental illness symptoms, de-escalation, and support patients in overcoming challenges.
    • Liaise with healthcare professionals and interact with patients' families, offering guidance and information.
    • Prepare patient records, including care plans and risk assessments.
    • Provide high-quality nursing care based on evidence.
    • Lead a team of staff during patient conveyance or therapeutic services.
    • Offer crisis intervention for patients facing mental health difficulties.
    • Stay updated on national and local safeguarding policies.
    • Attend training sessions and maintain professionalism in patient interactions.
    • Report incidents promptly and follow dress code and schedules as instructed.
    • Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by management for company operations.

    Essential Criteria

    • Current valid NMC Pin.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proactive and collaborative team player.
    • Well-organized with good time management.
    • Valid Enhanced DBS or on the update service.
    • Full UK Driving Licence.
    • Right to work in the UK.
    • Employment references for up to a 5-year period with a minimum of 3 years of UK employment history.
