Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support the data lineage, cleaning, readiness, and migration activities as part of a major business transformation project.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of data being migrated from legacy systems to a new business solution.
This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of data management principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Lineage:
◦ Document and map data flows from source systems to the target solution.
◦ Ensure data traceability by maintaining comprehensive records of data transformations and movements.
◦ Collaborate with data owners to understand and document data sources, transformations, and destinations.
Data Cleaning:
◦ Perform data profiling to assess data quality and identify anomalies or inconsistencies.
◦ Develop and implement data cleaning strategies to address data quality issues.
◦ Work with stakeholders to validate and correct data discrepancies.
Data Readiness:
◦ Assess the readiness of data for migration, ensuring it meets predefined quality and completeness criteria.
◦ Coordinate with business units to gather and validate necessary data requirements.
◦ Prepare data for migration by transforming and loading it into staging environments.
Data Migration:
◦ Assist in the design and execution of data migration plans.
Create and maintain a data dictionary and glossary
◦ Execute data migration tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
◦ Perform validation and reconciliation of migrated data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaboration and Communication:
◦ Work closely with the Data Migration Lead, project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
◦ Provide regular updates on data migration progress, issues, and resolutions.
◦ Participate in project meetings and contribute to project documentation and reporting.
