    Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5/ST6+) in Hepatology and General (Internal) Medicine in the Cambridge Liver Unit for 6 months, from 06 March 2024 to 03 September 2024 at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

    This post is geared towards furthering a career in Hepatology. It is available to applicants who are within or embarking on Hepatology training and will provide experience in managing hepatology inpatients and outpatients, internal/external referrals, variceal endoscopy and some aspects of liver transplantation. There is the opportunity for audit/project work.

    The Department undertakes basic, translational and clinical research in alcohol related liver disease, HCC, MASLD and PBC in partnership with the University of Cambridge and Cambridge NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.

    Main duties of the job

    The successful candidate would contribute to the Hepatology and General (Internal) Medicine on-call rotas.

    In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification.

    The post would not normally be accredited as part of a speciality training programme but has the potential to be approved as out of programme training.

    Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.

    The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
