    Description

    Science Teacher for Bradford Secondary School required to start from September 2024 of a full-time basis with the role leading to a permanent position.

    The Science Teacher is responsible for their pupils' academic progress and will: Ensure that pupils are taught in line with the subject specific schemes of work and examination specifications Adhere to whole school expectations with regard to assessment, marking, teaching and learning Adhere to the subject and faculty expectations in teaching & learning Keep records of assessments, marking and attendance of pupils The Science Teacher will follow the guidelines for: High quality teaching o knowing groups, marking and assessing work Use of resources; learning support; use of ICT; health and safety procedures Classroom management Implement any recommendations for improvement in teaching or administration Attend in-service training, Continual Professional Development (CPD) and engage in Joint Practice Development (JPD) as defined by Subject and Faculty Leaders Engage in classroom observation plus feedback sessions and Typicality Checks as part of the whole school strategy for teaching and learning Ensure that coursework deadlines and internal and external exam arrangements are adhered to and clearly communicated to pupils The Science Teacher will have: Degree and Qualified Teacher Status Evidence of continuing professional development and a willingness for further development as appropriate Consistent achievement of good or outstanding grades for teaching Treat people fairly, equitably and with dignity to create and maintain a positive Subject/Faculty culture Clear understanding of the requirements of the curriculum in Science Demonstrate excellent working relationships Able to balance work and personal life; is considerate of the well being of others Experience of teaching Science across the age and ability range of a secondary school Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff and parents.

    Ability to perform tasks that require attention to detail Knowledge of the use of pupil performance data to inform planning and target setting Knowledge of the curriculum at all key stages and understanding of the implications of the Education Act 2011 Awareness of target setting, monitoring and relevant assessment procedures Ability to relate to pupils and to evaluate and enhance pupils' achievement in its widest sense The ability to use different teaching approaches in response to pupils' learning needs; including innovative approaches to enrich the pupil experience Ability to use ICT and identify and develop the use of software in Science The school are looking to appoint imminently for this role.
