- Jointly, with the broader Critical Concerns' Team, engage in the methodical and robust progression of Critical Concern investigations, producing accurate records and working cross-functionally to drive prompt resolution by supporting departments.
- Identify Critical Concern issues for progression to the Product Safety and Compliance Committee (PSCC).
- Developing the corresponding data, to produce reasoned cases and arguments in support of progression of the issue through to PSCC.
- Interface with Product Engineering for queries relating to Critical Concerns.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to support with a Global Critical Concern investigation. Travel will be required to conduct inspections.
- Lead Technical investigations with external Police Forces, Fire Brigades and provide technical support to the Product Integrity Product Litigation Lawyer
- Experience of Vehicle engineering or Automotive industry. Ideally a degree in vehicle engineering or science subject.
- An adaptable and pragmatic approach and a curious mind, continually asking 'why'.
- Independent mindset with an appreciation of what 'better' looks like – able to suggest improvements to existing products, processes, or ways of working, or even new products.
- Strong analytical skills able to use data to see patterns, trends and things of note and to draw meaningful conclusions from them.
- Ideally would have an understanding of ISO 26262 – Road Vehicle Functional Safety.
- Knowledgeable within automotive networks CAN, Flex Ray etc and vehicle electrical/Electronic architecture

WHAT TO EXPECT
The Critical Concerns Team reports to the Product Integrity Director who in turn reports the Product Engineering Director. The team is responsible for identifying issues related to JLR products where there may be an unreasonable risk to safety or compliance. This covers vehicles in use with customers, within the retail network, within vehicle distribution and within manufacturing plants. These issues are identified as Critical Concerns and the responsible Critical Concerns Senior Engineer leads the investigation with the person most knowledgeable within JLR.
