Adenike Nubi is a result-driven management expert with over 20 years’ experience in Product Ownership, Digital Transformation, Regional Management, Mobile Financial services, and Retail Banking. 

Over the past 55 months, I have gained ample experience in the field of digital product management and ownership. I have honed my skills in working efficiently with cross-functional teams within the organization and have a good understanding of the techniques and methods of product conceptualization and delivery. This is in addition to several years of experience in Regional Management, Retail Banking, and Customer relationship management where I have a proven track record of starting and growing new businesses as well as turning around stagnant and loss-making portfolios.

My professional experience spans over 20 years of working with four(4) reputable commercial banks in Lagos Nigeria.

STANBIC IBTC BANK (A member of the Standard Bank Group) – June 2016 to date

Head, Mobile Financial Services, Consumer and High Net Worth Clients – November 2018 to date

  • Responsible for the overall operations of the Agency and  mobile money business of the bank, overseeing a staff strength of 91 Full and Non Full- time employees comprising Agent Network managers, Product Leads, and Field sales staff
  • Building and management of Agent Networks across the country 
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the external agent network to ensure customer acquisition and product adoption at agent locations and through other self-service channels (USSD & Mobile app)
  • Responsible for revenue generation from the propositions and service offerings as well as the achievement of new customer acquisition and transaction volume through the products’ delivery channels
  • Drive brand visibility and expand retail footprint through a vibrant agent network derived from collaborations with Super Agents and other strategic partnerships
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement long, medium, and short-term strategies to maximize product adoption, growth, and profitability
  • Collaborate with IT, Marketing, Sales and other relevant internal and external stakeholders to create, deploy and drive the bank’s mobile money products
  • Create and manage Partnerships with International Organizations to enhance Financial Inclusion via Mobile Money (Save the Children, World Health Organization, etc)

Accomplishments

  • Carried out the successful launch of the Bank’s Agent Network in July 2021 and acquired over 10,000 agents within 12 months
  • Deployed the Bank’s mobile money product, @ease wallet in October 2019 and acquired over 2.8m customers to date 
  • Won the Beyond Excellence Award for Teamwork in Q1 2020

Regional Manager, Lagos Island Zone – June 2016 to October 2018

  • Responsible for the overall management and achievement of business volumes and financial targets of Apapa Region consisting of 10 branches
  • Provided leadership for each of the branches and managed the sales and service operations
  • Worked with teams across the branches to drive growth in products and services
  • Worked closely with sales and operations teams to drive the development and execution of marketing strategies aimed at attracting and retaining valuable customers 
  • Coached employees, implemented changes, and ensured regulatory compliance

 

Accomplishments

  • Turned around a business portfolio that had been loss-making for about 2 years by 313% from N100m loss to profitability of N213million within 18 months 

 

UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA PLC, Burma Rd Apapa Branch- August 2013 to May 2016

 

 Business Manager & Relief Regional Bank Head

  • Business Development – Responsible for the overall management of customer relationships in the branch and new business development
  • General Management - Responsible for the achievement of business volume, overall branch performance, and financial targets set by the organization
  • Developed annual business strategy plan and activities to be done in order to achieve the organization’s goals
  • Worked closely with the sales and operations teams on the development and execution of marketing strategies to attract and retain profitable customers
  • Monitored marketing strategies to ensure customers’ expectations and targets were met
  • Team Leadership and Mentoring – Led and oversaw the sales and operations teams as well as mentored direct reports to take up higher responsibilities
  • Relief duty as Regional Bank Head - Acted as relief Regional Bank Head overseeing the business activities and performance of four (4) branches within the region

  • Grew the balance sheet size of the branch by 227% from N946m to N3.1b in 2 years
  • Received an award in December 2015 for being the business office with the best demand deposit growth (N1.77b) in the Lagos Directorate consisting of over 100 branches

 

ZENITH BANK PLC Alaka Branch - July 2009 to April 2012

  • New Business Development – Started a new branch with a staff strength of 26 people
  • General Management - Responsible for the achievement of business volume, overall branch performance and financial targets set by the organization. Grew balance sheet size from zero to over N1bn in 2 years
  • Developed annual marketing plan and activities to be executed to achieve the organizational goals
  • Worked closely with the sales team to develop and execute strategies to onboard and retain clients
  • Monitored the marketing sales strategies implemented to ensure customers’ expectations and targets are met
  • Team Leadership and Mentoring – Responsible for leading the operations and marketing teams as well as developing direct reports to take up higher responsibilities

  • Branch management relief duties - Acted as branch head over the branch’s staff strength of seventy (70)
